To ensure a consistent transition, the current registry operator has frozen the registry for
.xxx zones so that no changes to the underlying data can occur.
Read only services such as DNS publication and WHOIS continue to operate normally, as they can still access a read-only view of the registry database.
At this time, the current registry operator is preparing a a RyDE – RegistrY Data Escrow deposit file, described here – that will then be encrypted and securely passed to Uniregistry to proceed with the rest of the importing process.
Uniregistry has also stopped its current ICM registry instance. This is needed to ensure that AdultBlock and AdultBlock+ data can be correctly merged with the data being imported from the RyDE.
